OR...
It doesn't pay to cop an attitude with the department secretary!
I was in meetings all day yesterday and I had a cable fellow call and leave 2 messages. I had told the territory manager of this company that I was looking to see what other companies offered the NASA channel. Well, this company has just added it to their packages. I guess the territory manager told this salesman or whatever he is to contact me. So, he called and left 2 messages asking me to call him back. I had every intention of calling him when I had finished up the other work that needed to be done.
So, he calls, I answer the phone, he asks for me, I tell him that he's talking to me and his comment was, (in a very snotty tone) "I left you two messages yesterday!". I told him that I had received them and was going to call him when I had a chance. He then starts asking me where on the campus my office was and when I told him, he said it couldn't be there because the address of the college is an even number and my office is on the odd-number side of the street.
Now, I've been working here for over six years and my office has ALWAYS been here. We haven't moved and don't currently have any plans to relocate so I think I know where my office is!
He's pushing the envelope! One more attitude conversation and he won't stand a snowball's chance in hell of getting a contract here. I don't like the company we are currently using, but this idiot is not winning any points with me.
Remember the expression: It's not nice to fool Mother Nature? Well, it's not nice to aggravate the department secretary. The results are almost identical!
